The Summer Reading Program offers an engaging way for children and young adults to maintain and improve their reading skills, while enjoying live performances and earning books and other prizes. Staff Development

In addition to out-of-town events, the Friends funded lunch for Staff Day, which brought together library staff from throughout the Washoe County Library System for all-day training.

None of our funds are used for library salaries.

Occasional Needs

Several years ago, the Friends paid for a $37,000 van which makes weekly delivery of books between all of the branches. The Friends also provided $5,000 to the Geralch Library to provide internet service.
